My Self Care Journey towards inner peace & self discovery (INTRO)

I am a work in progress.

Instead of waiting for some day, i’ve decided today is that day.

Today is the day where I start. Where I make a change, where I stop waiting for the life I want to be living to come to me and I go out and make it happen.

I’ve been coasting for too long, sweeping my unhappiness under a rug — always falling back on “one day i’ll be happy, one day I’ll be living the life I always wanted to live.”

But enough of waiting for that day to come to me, as of today I am going to start taking tangible steps into making that my reality.

I’ve just moved into a new apartment, it is a great time to “start fresh”.

I have decided that I am going to begin this self care journey. I am going to start doing daily self care practices in order to help myself grow, focus more on myself and tune out some of the outside noise.

I have decided to “document” and share my journey here in a series — to both hold myself accountable and track my progress.

Goals

  1. 10 minutes of meditation five times a week
  2. No phone after 10 pm
  3. 15 minutes screen free time in the morning
  4. Write down 3 things I am grateful for (Every day!)
  5. 30 minutes of movement five times a week
  6. One long meaningful conversation with a friend per week
  7. Limit time on social media to 1 hour per day

Here’s to hoping that this is the start of something new. A new chapter, a new beginning. More doing and less waiting.
